Ferrari 458 Inlet Manifold Refurbishment

Background

A local company approached us with a request to refurbish the inlet manifold of a Ferrari 458. The goal was to restore the manifold’s functionality and appearance while maintaining the high standards expected for a luxury sports car.

Process Overview

1. Initial Preparation
   Upon arrival, the inlet manifold was carefully assessed, and we began by chemically stripping it. This process removed all old coatings, dirt, and grease, ensuring a clean base for further work.

2. Surface Preparation
   We masked all areas that did not require coating to protect them during the process. Next, the manifold was lightly blasted to remove any corrosion and create a keyed surface suitable for the new coating.

3. Detailing
   The lettering and badge on the manifold were meticulously polished to ensure a sharp and premium look before the application of the coating.

4. Coating Application
   The manifold was coated in Ferrari’s signature crackle red finish. To maintain the polished areas' integrity, we carefully removed the powder from these sections before the coating was baked on, achieving a striking contrast.

Results

The refurbished Ferrari 458 inlet manifold exceeded expectations, featuring a vibrant crackle red finish with polished lettering and badge details. The finished product not only looks stunning but is now ready to be fitted back onto the car, restoring its iconic performance and style.
